This season has marked a remarkable milestone for Australasian soccer academy as it celebrates its 20-year anniversary with unprecedented success in club football. The academy’s achievements this year have solidified its reputation as a powerhouse in youth sports, coinciding perfectly with its two-decade journey of fostering young talent.
One of the standout moments of the season was the World Cup debut of star player Cristian Volpato, who has become a beacon of hope and inspiration for young athletes within the academy. Alongside Volpato, every team across various age groups has made it to the grand finals, showcasing the depth of talent nurtured at Australasian Soccer academy.
The Under-11 and Under-12 teams, along with two Under-13 squads and an Under-14 team, have demonstrated remarkable prowess by remaining undefeated throughout the year. Particularly noteworthy is the Under-13 team, which has impressively scored over 100 goals this season, a testament to their attacking flair and teamwork.
Adding an international flair to the academy’s accomplishments, two of the academy’s nine-year-old players had the unique opportunity to train for two weeks at the prestigious Manchester City Academy in the UK, broadening their horizons and enhancing their skills.
The academy’s partnership with Parramatta City has flourished, creating a supportive environment for players and their families. The camaraderie and family-oriented atmosphere have made this collaboration a resounding success, with both organizations committed to the development of young footballers.
Tony Basha, Head of Football at the academy, expressed immense pride in the achievements of the teams. “I couldn’t be prouder of all our players. We have some incredible talent at the club, and I’m excited about the future of these young athletes who are coming through our system,” he stated. Many players have been competing two years above their age groups, and their performance has been nothing short of exceptional.
The academy has broken numerous records, not only for being the longest-serving academy in Australia but also for producing two World Cup stars. With more promising talent on the horizon, the future looks bright for ASA.
