Parramatta, NSW – All good things must come to an end, and for Bill Bamber, that moment has arrived. After spending the last three and a half years at the Australasian Soccer Academy in Parramatta, the talented winger is set to return to Thailand to pursue a professional contract, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, leadership, and dedication.
Originally hailing from Bangkok, Bill made the move to Australia not only to further his soccer career but also to complete a degree in Sports Development and Sports Management at Western Sydney University. Balancing academics with training and work commitments, Bill’s schedule has been nothing short of demanding, with early morning training sessions beginning at 6:00 AM and wrapping up by 7:30 AM, five days a week.
Despite the challenges of being away from family, Bill quickly found his footing at the academy. Remarkably, he missed only five training sessions during his entire tenure, a testament to his unwavering commitment. His dedication did not go unnoticed; he quickly emerged as a leader within the academy, contributing not just on the field but also by assisting in the academy office and coaching the young players.

Tony Basha, Head of Football at the academy, expressed nothing but admiration for Bill’s work ethic. “He has been impeccable. With a great attitude, he’s truly a pleasure to coach,” Basha noted. “Never once did he complain, and he approached every task with the professionalism of a seasoned athlete. We will miss him heaps around here. I wish all our 300 players had the same attitude and respect towards the staff and teammates alike.”
While the academy community is saddened to see him leave, there is also a sense of pride in Bill’s growth as both a player and a person. “I am happy he will leave our academy a better player, a better person, and most importantly, with a degree,” Basha added. “I look forward to seeing Bill grow into the player we know he can be.”
As Bill embarks on this exciting new chapter in Thailand, the team at the Australasian Soccer Academy wishes him all the best. His journey serves as an inspiration to young athletes everywhere, proving that dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude can lead to great achievements.
Good luck, Bill! The academy will always be your home.
